Celebrity Antiques Road Trip team make a loss on udders model

Serhat Ahmet is one of the stars of the BBC's Antiques Road Trip and Antiques Roadshow, having a passion for porcelain from the period 1720 to 1935. He became one of the faces of Antiques Roadshow in 2018 and has since branched out to other antiques shows.

Having worked in the family antiques business for 25 years, he decided to launch his own business in 2013. He has a shop in London and is a regular exhibitor at BADA (The British Antique Dealers' Association) and LAPADA (The Association of Art & Antiques Dealers).

The expert has a hidden passion for mixed martial arts and when he is not busy hunting for antiques, he can be found at the gym practising his skills. He sometimes posts photos of himself in training on social media, showing off his muscles.

He once shared a photo of himself at 6am, saying: "Whoa. Thursday already?! Time to flex some muscle and tick off those To Dos (or just show off that you’re at the gym already)." Fans took to the comments to share their thoughts on the star's physique.

Malc6311 said: "Wow, where & when did those guns appear Serhat?" Meanwhile, Flat Caps Art Work added: "Those guns gonna crush porcelain."

This was a real treat for fans as Serhat does not post much about his personal life outside of work on social media.

The expert opened up about his passion for his work on his website, saying he was "a Londoner, born and bred, and has been in the antique industry since he was just 15 years old".

He added: "With over 30 years of experience and a particular eye for fine European porcelain, Serhat sources and trades antiques with collectors and dealers all over the globe."

Serhat’s collection is on display at his Covent Garden antique shop in central London.

The British Antique Dealers' Association said of the star: "A lifetime of being surrounded by works from the world-famous manufactories of Meissen, KPM Berlin, Sèvres and Vienna, as well as the smaller factories, has allowed Serhat to develop an extensive knowledge of the subject, as well as an excellent eye for objects of quality.

"During his ‘sabbatical’ years in the corporate world, Serhat's enthusiastic passion for fine European porcelain was fed by regularly staying in touch with the dealers and private collectors he had met over the years both through his parents and also at their own premises."

Antiques Road Trip airs on weekdays on BBC One and BBC Two
