House of the Dragon introduced plenty of interesting new characters in season 2 - and one of those new additions was none other than Ser Gwayne of House Hightower.

Cocky knight Ser Gwayne, who is also the brother of Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), is fighting for House Green in the Dance of the Dragons.

But where have fans seen Ser Gwayne actor Freddie Fox before? And who are his other famous family members? Keep reading to find out more.

Who is Ser Gwayne Hightower?

Ser Gwayne Hightower is the brother of Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) and the son of Ser Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans).

He is a knight hailing from Oldtown in The Reach, who has joined the military efforts of the Greens this past season.

The somewhat arrogant knight was introduced in the third episode of season 2, titled The Burning Mill.

Ser Gwayne joins Ser Criston Cole in battle and is disturbed by what he sees in the Dance of the Dragons.

He also appears to be close to his sister Alicent and eventually confronts Cole about his relationship with her.

Freddie Fox is a British actor whose latest role is Ser Gwayne Hightower in House of the Dragon.

Before that, he made a name for himself in high-profile TV shows like Slow Horses, The Great, Cucumber, Banana and White House Farm.

He has also appeared on the big screen in films like The Riot Club, Pride, The Three Musketeers and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.

Freddie is also known for being a member of the Fox acting dynasty, having grown up in a family of actors.

His grandparents are the late Robin Fox and Angela Worthington, who in turn had three actor sons - Edward and James - and one son named Robert who became a theatrical agent.

Freddie’s cousins include Sanditon actor Jack Fox, Submarine’s Lydia Fox, Silent Witness star Emilia Fox and Lewis actor Laurence Fox, who has become a controversial political figure in recent years.
