Tim Shaw is a renowned motor enthusiast who has spent many happy years working in TV and radio. As the face of Car SOS alongside Fuzz Townshend, the engineering enthusiasts journey across the UK and Europe, restoring classic four-by-fours and giving them a new lease of life.

Born in Sheffield on June 9, 1974, Tim Shaw started life out training to be an engineer but he later switched to broadcasting. Tim kicked off his career in radio, when he landed a job hosting a show on Kerrang! in 2004 before being sacked.

Tim's love for cars helped land him a presenter role on Fifth Gear presenter in 2008. After a number of presenting stints, Tim Shaw landed the lead presenter role for National Geographic and Channel 4 series Car SOS in 2013.

With his love for motoring clear, many viewers will be wondering about his life off-camera and inside his home life. This is what we know about his marriage.

Tim Shaw is currently married to Hayley Shaw. It is not publically known when they met, but they married in 1999. 

The pair live together and had two children together. Tim Shaw is a private person and does not share personal information about his family life or life outside of TV online. 

Yet their marriage made national headlines after Hayley placed his "pride and joy" - a Lotus Esprit Turbo worth about £25,000 - on eBay in June 2005. 

The sports car was sold by his wife Hayley while he was presenting his Asylum show on Kerrang radio on Thursday night. Mrs Shaw said her husband's flirtatious interview with glamour model Jodie Marsh earlier that night had been the "last straw" in their relationship.

At one point, Mrs Shaw heard her husband tell Marsh he would leave his wife and two daughters for her. Immediately, Mrs Shaw put the car up for sale on the eBay auction website and included a "Buy Now" price of 50p.

Not surprisingly, the car was only on the site for five minutes before it was snapped up. The item description read: "I need to get rid of this car immediately - ideally in the next two to three hours before my... husband gets home to find it gone and all his belongings in the street.

"I am the registered owner and I have the log book. Please only buy if you can pick up tonight."

Mrs Shaw told The Birmingham Post at the time: "When he said he would leave me and the kids for Jodie Marsh, that was it for me.

"He has two daughters. One of them goes to school. I am sick of him disrespecting his family for the sake of his act. Maybe it was childish but I had had a few drinks that night and I just thought I would get him back the best way I could.

"The car is his pride and joy but the idiot put my name on the logbook so I just sold it. I didn't care about the money, I just wanted to get him back."

It is unclear if the car was sold or retrieved by Tim, but it was a valuable lesson.
