ITV This Morning's Rochelle Humes apologises after 'welling up' live on-air

Rochelle Humes almost sneezes on This Morning

Rochelle Humes, the admired This Morning host, was ensnared in an amusing on-air scenario whilst discussing bosses who contact employees after-hours. As one guest expounded on the virtues of work-life balance, Rochelle found herself battling a sneeze, leading to some on-set confusion.

Ashley James, during her commentary on employers respecting personal time, observed: "I think what Labour are trying to improve is that work-life balance and actually when you look at lots of other countries and how they do things. I think Denmark and Holland are two of the leading countries for having that work-life balance."

James mentioned her sister's experiences in Holland, remarking on the commendable cut-off times for work there: "There is that real sense of when your children finish school, it's then family time and that time is very respected and they're actually a more productive nation-."

However, midway through the debate, Ashley paused, thrown off by Rochelle's expression, which prompted the quick-witted question from Rochelle, "Are you going to sneeze?"

Attempting to stifle her impromptu urge, Humes confirmed with a giggle: "Sorry I'm just holding a sneeze in!", reports the Mirror.

Initially misconstrued by co-host Joel Dommett as a reaction to something shocking, Rochelle clarified the sneeze false alarm to the amusement of everyone present.

She exclaimed: "I held it in, sorry, I'm so passionate about it."

Joel Dommett playfully chipped in: "I thought you were welling up!"

After saying sorry once more for the outburst, Ashley resumed her discussion on the merits of a healthy work-life balance as seen in other nations.

ITV audiences this week will get a glimpse of Rochelle and Joel taking the helm while usual stalwarts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard enjoy their summer hiatus.

In recent weeks, the show has featured an array of TV favourites stepping in such as Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle, Dermot O'Leary, and Rylan Clarke.
