Lorraine: Ranvir Singh opens the show as she takes hosting duties

Ranvir Singh is currently standing-in as host on ITV's Lorraine and fans have something to say about it.

The Strictly Come Dancing and Good Morning Britain star, is currently filling in for Scottish host Lorraine Kelly, who is enjoying her summer holidays at the moment. However, if comments on social media platforms are anything to go by, then it would seem fans will be happy to see their TV regular return in just a few weeks time.

Viewers over on X, seemed to be unimpressed with Ranvir's hosting skills during an interview with two Long Lost Family stars - a brother and sister, who were reunited on Davina McCall's programme and were sharing their harrowing story with Ranvir.

Their mother, had cancer but had also been harbouring a deep dark secret for years, before she finally confessed to her daughter, that she'd once been forced to give up a baby boy by her parents after falling pregnant at a young age.

Her mother and father, presented the pregnant youngster with two options at the time which was to keep her baby son and leave home, or put him up for adoption and the roof over her head would remain.

Years later and after her death, her two children did eventually find each other via Long Lost Family. The emotional interview caught a lot of attention with Lorraine viewers, who claimed Ranvir hadn't dealt with the situation as sensitively as she could have.

One person penned: "#lorraine Ranvir is the master of not listening to answers and interrupting during Interviews," another comment read: "Hey Ranvir - can you say 'very sadly got cancer and passed away' in a more flippant and throwaway fashion? #lorraine."

A third said with a hint of sarcasm: "Hurry the f*** up , I’m on the clock here ; Ranvir speaking to a pair of reunited long lost siblings.#Lorraine."

Meanwhile, away from the programme, usual host Lorraine, is gearing up to become a granny, with her daughter Rosie, about to give birth very soon. Excited about becoming a grandmother for the first time, Lorraine told fans: "Not long now."

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV, from 6am.
