For several years, Jacqui Joseph has been helping housebuyers on BBC series Homes Under The Hammer. The experienced TV presenter joined the daytime TV series in 2021 along with Ground Force star Tommy Walsh to mix up the presenters and show.

Jacqui joined the show with a wealth of experience, with stints on GMTV, Daybreak, Lorraine, This Morning and other series such as E4's Wife Swap the Aftermath, Hollywood Gossip, and The Alan Titchmarsh Show.

Jacqui previously said “property and interior design are real passions of mine” and often shares upcycled furniture on her Instagram page.

Born on June 22, 1964, Paterson Joseph also ended up working in the TV industry following many years on the stage. Paterson got his first big role as staff nurse Mark Grace on Casualty in 1997 after many bit part roles in The Bill and Soldier Soldier.

His biggest and arguably most recognisable role is Alan Johnson on Channel 4 show Peep Show, with his mannerisms and frank business management making him a cult character on British TV.

Paterson also made various appearances on Noughts + Crosses, Timeless, Doctor Who, That Mitchell and Webb Look, Survivors, Death in Paradise and Law and Order: UK. Paterson has also narrated many programmes including Wild Burma, Inside Obama's White House and The Prosecutors: Real Crime and Punishment.

In recent years, Paterson has moved onto the big screen as Arthur Slugworth in Wonka, starring Timothee Chalamet and Matt Lucas. Arthur Slugworth was a member of the chocolate cartel who sought to put an end to Wonka’s fantastic chocolate trade.

Paterson and Jacqui share a very close relationship and he dubbed her “queen of daytime TV” in an article in The Times. He said: “Jac’s philosophy is: if you can see it, then you can probably do it. Because she was a forerunner for me creatively, she was a total inspiration.

“When she encounters an obstacle, whether that’s to do with her ethnicity, her age or her background, Jacqui will find a way around it and succeed anyway.

“I love that she’s turned an idea we discussed at her kitchen table about upcycling into a TV show (Discovery Home’s Room 2 B You). She doesn’t need help from anyone. She wasn’t able to get a presenting job on mainstream TV so she pitched it, then wrote, produced and presented it.”

Paterson also revealed the pair had become closer since the death of her husband Andy in 2018. Andy bravely fought cancer over eight months before he sadly passed away.

Paterson asked her to decorate his new flat to “partly to keep her busy” following his death, but he knew his sister “wouldn’t allow herself to be broken by it”.

The pair publically celebrate each other's achievements on social media and share photos of each other together.
