GB News' Stephen Dixon warns King Charles is walking 'fine line' after riot statement

Stephen Dixon says King Charles is 'walking a fine line'

King Charles III spoke on the riots across the UK on Friday (August 9), sharing his hopes that the nation will unite.

On Saturday morning (August 10), GB News hosts Stephen Dixon and Anne Diamond addressed his statement before welcoming Jennie Bond on to discuss his comments.

His Majesty had praised the police and emergency services for "all they are doing to restore peace in the areas that have been affected by violent disorder", a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said.

They added that he hoped the "shared values of mutual respect and understanding will continue to strengthen and unite the nation".

GB News' Stephen reflected on the statement and claimed it was a "fine line".

The pair welcomed Jennie Bond onto the show and Stephen opened the interview with a comment on King Charles.

He said: "I think the King is actually walking a pretty fine line with commentary and politics on this one." However, Jennie immediately turned it to praise.

She said: "Yes he is and I think he's walking it very well. It is a delicate line as you say but I let out a little cheer when I heard he'd done this. This is exactly what a monarch should do, giving moral leadership."

Jennie added: "I was very pleased and I don't think there's anything to criticise him for."

Stephen Dixon claimed that royalists stated they felt "let down" and didn't feel King Charles should have intervened - which Jennie continued to disagree with.

She stated: "Well I would disagree profoundly. This is exactly the leadership we want to see from a monarch. He just wants people to get along with each other."

Jennie added: "Live and let live, that's what he's all about."
