This year's Strictly Come Dancing cast have been photographed arriving at a studio as they begin their training for the 2024 show. Love Island's Tasha Ghouri, former Coronation Street star Shayne Ward, Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and comedian Chris McCausland were among those who were all smiles as they got set to prepare for the weeks ahead.

Although they won't dance until the second week of the programme the launch show is prerecorded and filming takes place in less than four weeks on September 4. This is the show where it is announced who is partnered with which pro dancer.

Shayne and Miranda were only announced this morning (August 8) during an appearance on Lorraine. Both told stand in host Christine Lampard they were excited for the show.

The pair arrived at the studio in the same clothes they had worn for their earlier TV appearance. Meanwhile Chris McCausland was the first contestant announced during an appearance on This Morning on Monday 5 August.

JLS star JB Gill was also announced as part of the 2024 Strictly line-up on that same show. On Vernon Kay's BBC Radio 2 show on Tuesday, Wynne Evans, Toyah Wilcox, and TV doctor Punam Krishan were confirmed. Meanwhile Thursday's Kiss FM Breakfast show saw hosts Perri and Jordan announcing Pete Wicks and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri. The most recent announcements are Olympic swimmer Tom Dean and EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick qwho were confirmed on Radio 1's afternoon show.

Blind comedian Chris McCausland was revealed as the first contestant on Monday 5 August. Following his announcement live on This Morning he said:  "If anybody out there is thinking - How the hell is he going to do that? - then rest assured that I am thinking exactly the same thing."

"I don't dance, I haven't danced, I can't dance, I can't see the dancing I will have to do. What can possibly go wrong? Ok, don't answer that...!" he quipped.

JLS star JB Gill loked confident as he arrived. This is unsurprising as he has a head start on most of the other contestants having previously appeared on the Christmas special of the BBC dance competition over 10 years ago. he was paired up with Ola Jordan and danced the Jive to 'Rockin Robin'.
