Outlander fans emotional as Starz drama approaches incredible milestone this week
Outlander’s legion of fans is getting emotional this week as the Starz drama hits a major milestone.
The hit series follows the adventures of Claire Fraser (played by Caitriona Balfe), a time-traveller who is unexpectedly thrown through time to 18th Century Scotland, where she meets Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan).
Their love story has since expanded into an epic family drama and millions of viewers have been introduced to their daughter Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton), her husband Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) and many more beloved characters.
Outlander’s very first episode, titled Sassenach, aired way back in 2014 on August 9, meaning there are just three days until the TV adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s novels officially turns 10.
To commemorate the huge milestone, the show’s official Instagram page shared a touching montage and called on fans to share their favourite moments from the seven seasons so far.

“To kick off a week of celebration, let’s count down ten reasons this series is simply the best. What would you add to this list?”
Many fans were clearly in bits after watching the stirring video as they couldn’t believe the series had been going on for an entire decade.
“ROMANCE LIKE NO OTHER,” one excited Outlander enthusiast exclaimed. “Have something in my eye!
“So incredibly thankful for this show - it will be in my heart always! Happy 10 years and THANK YOU!”

A third replied: “It's that easy to make us cry over this greatness of a show.”
While a fourth evoked one of Jamie’s most iconic catchphrases as they commented: “I tried to tell myself ‘Dinna Fash’.. but I started crying! 10 years!! What an amazing journey! OUTLANDER FOREVER.”

And yet another fan couldn’t help getting emotional, penning: “I’m not crying, you are! What a story.”
With season eight currently in the works and the spin-off series Blood of My Blood starting next year, could the world of Outlander continue for another decade?
