Love Is Blind UK's Matt and Emma Willis detail 'worst part' of hosting new Netflix show

Love Is Blind UK Official Teaser

The much-anticipated Love Is Blind UK has landed on Netflix and the show's charismatic hosts, Matt and Emma Willis, have shared their biggest highs and toughest challenges from the inaugural series.

Tying the knot back in 2008, the power couple sat down with media outlets including the Daily Express, spilling the beans before viewers binged the first four episodes.

The duo voiced their excitement about joining the Netflix project, with Emma gushing: "I'm an absolute stickler for matchmaking and love - and I love reality TV - so I was a big old yes!"

Matt Willis disclosed that, due to the show's endearing couples and intense moments, it's been quite the struggle to remain impartial as the drama unfolds.

When quizzed about whether they ever felt a burning need to step in when situations took a turn for the worse, Emma admitted: "We want to intervene all the time, but we are not allowed to!"

Echoing his spouse, Matt said: "We're not allowed. That's the worst part!"

Emma elaborated: "We're always a bit like, 'Can we do a bit more? Can we go and chat to them about that?' And they're like, 'No.'"

Both Emma and Matt concluded by clarifying that they were unequivocally prohibited from mingling too closely with the contestants, which meant no meeting families or attending the much-anticipated nuptials.

Emma delved into the reasoning behind the strict rules on set, stating: "But I get it and it makes sense, because I think if you want them in this environment for the relationship to work and for them to thrive and for them to be really focused on being there for those reasons.

"If you have things to distract - whether it's presenters turn up or extra cameras or whatever it is - you want to remain in that bubble for as long as possible, I think.

"So, us dipping in every second we would like to... I think that would make them even more aware that they're on telly."

Love Is Blind UK premieres Wednesday, August 7 on Netflix. Part 2 will be released on August 14, followed by Part 3 on August 21.
