Homes Under the Hammer's Dion Dublin issues warning as star returns to BBC show

Homes Under the Hammer: Dion speaks to recurring guest

Dion Dublin issued a warning to a property owner about their upcoming project. During Tuesday's instalment (August 6) of the Homes Under the Hammer, Dion headed to a four-bedroom house just outside of Oldham which required plenty of work.

The 55-year-old arrived at end of terrace building, worth around £150,000. After completing the tour of the home, Dion issued the warning: "Take this place on, be ready to roll up your sleeves, let me tell you."

The property was purchased by Jual for £184,000 in 2022. Jual is a familiar face, having appeared on the BBC programme before. He arrived with close friend and business partner Nicole to tell Dion about their plans for the place.

Recalling his previous interactions with Jual, Dion probed the property owner on whether he achieved his dream of getting into new builds.

The former professional footballer asked: "I remember when I met you last time, you said, 'I want to do some new builds'. Here we are here, this is not a new build. So did the dream happen?"

Jual exclaimed: "Of course the dream happened. How can you say that? Of course the dream happened." Jual revealed he is building four detached houses in Chorley and has another site in Blackburn.

Explaining that new builds take more time to go through, Jual said that in the meantime, he wanted to do a refurbishment project with Nicole and their other business partner.

Sharing their hopes for the house, Nicole revealed their plans to implement a brand new kitchen and bathroom, as well as an open plan space downstairs.

They were hoping to complete the projects in three months, with a budget of £25,000. Later in the programme, Nicole revealed they were unable to make the kitchen and dining room open plan due to structural issues.

They ended up working on the property for an extra month after experiencing initial delays with trades, while Jual welcomed a baby boy during that time.

Jual revealed that, for the first time in his career, he went over budget as they spent £46,000 overall. A local estate agent valued the house between £275,000 to £280,000, however, it went on the market for £350,000.
