Strictly Come Dancing could find its next celeb contestant in history-making reality star

Amanda Abbington reflects on aftermath of Strictly drama

Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan have made history on Love Island, snatching the title in the grand finale and clinching the £50,000 jackpot as the first-ever Black couple to win the steamy ITV series.

They pipped Welsh sweethearts Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel to the coveted crown, who graciously accepted second place.

Now, with the glitter of victory still fresh, it's rumoured Mimii could be sashaying onto another dazzling platform, Strictly Come Dancing, with bookmakers swiftly amending their odds.

Coral has dramatically cut her chances from 6-1 down to a mere 2-1, fuelling speculation that we'll witness her dance moves on BBC One come September.

Plus, there's chatter about Mimii tackling the rugged trials of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, with her odds standing enticingly at 6-4.

John Hill from Coral has teased: "After being crowned the winner of Love Island, Mimii Ngulube is now being backed to be on either Strictly or I'm A Celeb later this year. The betting suggests the former of those two looks most likely for her."

Though not leading the bookies' predictions, the surprise encompassed the villa as hosts Maya Jama declared Mimii and Josh champions, reports OK!.

Overjoyed and astonished by their win, day-one contestant Mimii expressed her emotions: "I wasn't expecting this," admitting she felt "overstimulated, overwhelmed, grateful".

Earlier on the programme, Ayo Odukoya and Jess Spencer were announced as the couple in fourth place, while Sean Stone and Matilda Draper claimed third position.

Mimii's stint in the villa was not all plain sailing; early on, she was embroiled in a love triangle involving Ayo and Uma Jammeh at the season's outset.

Following her unwavering loyalty to Ayo during the Casa Amor twist, Mimii was devastated when he came back with new girl Jess in tow.

But then entered Josh, who sauntered into the villa and only had eyes for Mimii, ultimately forming a power couple.

Fans overwhelmingly flocked to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to voice their joy over Josh and Mimii's triumph.
