The One Show host issues warning to guest after 'rude' two-word comment

The One Show: Anita reminds guests of the time

Actors Danny Dyer and Ryan Sampson joined hosts Anita Rani and Roman Kemp on The One Show to discuss their new Sky Original series, Mr Bigstuff. However, Ryan was swiftly cautioned by Anita about his language before the watershed due to a potentially inappropriate two-word comment.

Ryan, famed for his roles in Brassic and Plebs, is both the author and star of Mr Bigstuff alongside EastEnders legend Danny, who is making his first foray into TV comedy. The show centres around "estranged brothers, Glen and Lee, who try to patch up a sibling rivalry that may well be beyond repair".

Ryan elaborated on how the show delves into the world of carpet sales, leading to a slight misunderstanding when he mentioned "rug tufting". As he began discussing the "rug tufting" videos appearing on his social media, Roman questioned: "Sorry... rug tufting?" Anita quickly asked for clarification, to which Danny insisted: "It's a thing!"

Anita, concerned that something inappropriate had been said, reminded them: "Remember it is seven O'Clock... So..." The actors reassured her that it was "all above board", explaining that rug tufting is simply a popular technique in rug making.

Viewers at home were tickled by the interaction, with one writing on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter: "Anita has just had to remind both Ryan and Danny of the time and day [laughing emoji]," reports OK!

The rest of Sky's synopsis for Mr Bigstuff reads: "The six-part comedy explores broken families, fragile masculinity and carpet sales. It tells the story of two estranged brothers; Glen a nervy perfectionist striving to live the suburban ideal and Lee an alpha male with a prescription drug addiction and biscuit tin full of his Dad's ashes.

"Glen and his fiancee share a perfect, perfectly mundane life together. Sure, Glen's got crippling erectile dysfunction and Kirsty has a secret shoplifting habit, but they're happy.

"That is until Lee comes crashing into their lives, whilst on the run from a past that's quickly catching up with him. The trio are forced together: a perfectionist, a fantasist and an anarchist all living under the same roof in an Essex cul-de-sac.

"It's not long before their 'perfect' lives start to unravel faster than a cheap carpet."
