A Place In The Sun presenter Ben Hillman was scouring the sandy stretches of Costa del Sol on the show on Friday, July 19, aiming to fulfil DP and Jo's dream of owning a sun-soaked retreat.

They had plans to rent out their potential Spanish bolthole in the popular summer months while seeking sanctuary there during the cooler seasons. Before unveiling the eagerly-awaited fifth property, Ben guided the couple for a scenic detour along Almunecar's coast.

Despite the stunning setting, the unpredictable climate couldn't escape mention. As Jo admired the striking views, she quipped: "The castle and the rock are so graphic. I think It's beautiful. There's a slight ruggedness about it, a bit like you Ben, so I like it."

Her tease got a laugh from DP, but Ben shrugged off the remark, noting: "It could have done with being a little bit warmer, couldn't it?" Jo continued: "Yes, but you two are wimps!" reports the Mirror.

Ben feigned shock, gesturing to his short sleees as Jo and DP chuckled alongside, retorting: "Hang on a minute, I haven't got anything on Jo!"

Jo had previously teased Ben for his commentary on the weather as well. During an earlier viewing, Ben highlighted the local amenities near one of the properties, remarking: "It's closer to the coast, all the bars and restaurants in striking distance by foot. We could just do with a bit more sunshine, couldn't we?"

Braving the chilly weather in a blue hoodie, DP agreed while Jo said: "Stop being grumpy old men! It's just beautiful."

The duo ultimately fell for the last property they viewed, offering £190,000 due to some changes they wished to make. The offer was declined as the sellers stood firm on a minimum of £217,000.

After some deliberation, Jo and DP opted to take their time before finalising their decision. Audiences later discovered they had set their sights on an entirely different renovation project.

Regrettably, that purchase didn't proceed, with Ben disclosing that their hunt for the perfect home went on.
