Air Astana launches second route from Seoul

Air Astana has switched to its summer flight schedule, which sees the resumption of several scheduled and seasonal services, as well as increases to the frequency of flights to a number of international destinations.

Air Astana is resuming nonstop service between Astana and Seoul Incheon, complementing its daily 767 flights between Almaty and the South Korean capital.

Also this summer, the Kazakh flag carrier is returning with seasonal flights between Astana and Almaty and Montenegro’s capital, Podgorica, as well as from Astana to Georgia’s capital Tbilisi and from Almaty to Heraklion in Crete.

Domestically, Air Astana is once again offering service linking Astana with Kostanai.

The summer flight schedule also includes increases in the frequency of flights from Almaty to Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent, to up to 14 times a week; to Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek, up to eight times a week; and Tbilisi up to nine times a week; to Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe, up to four times a week; to Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, up to three times a week; and to Urumqi in Xinjiang up to five times a week.

Air Astana group is the largest airline group in Central Asia and the Caucasus regions by revenue and fleet size. The group operates a fleet of 50 aircraft split between Air Astana, its full-service airline, and FlyArystan, its low-cost carrier.

Air Astana operates a modern fleet of new technology Airbus A321neo long-range aircraft, as well as A320neos on shorter routes, and 767-300ERs on higher capacity international services, including to Seoul and Frankfurt.

From 2025, Air Astana will add its maiden Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and it plans to fly them to destinations including New York, its chief executive Peter Foster said last year.

On the 787-9s, Air Astana will for the first time launch a proper premium economy product, as well as 30 premium business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration.
