SkyTeam member Korean Air has announced a wide-ranging network expansion with the upcoming summer schedule from 31 March, including several route resumptions and many frequency increases on current routes.
The expansion will allow the airline’s international capacity to reach approximately 96 per cent of pre-pandemic levels, Korean Air said.
The carrier will resume its flights between Seoul and Zurich from 2 April with a thrice-weekly service on two-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Moreover, from 23 April, Korean Air will return to Zhangjiajie in China from its Incheon hub, also with a thrice-weekly service.
From 24 April, the carrier will resume four weekly flights to Zhengzhou, also in China.
Following on from that, on 25 April, Korean Air will resume daily flights on the Busan-Bangkok route after a nearly four-year hiatus.
Korean Air will furthermore increase its flight frequencies on the Seoul Incheon-Budapest route from three to four weekly flights, while the Seoul Incheon-Bangkok route will increase from three to four daily flights, and the Seoul Incheon-Manila route will increase from two to three daily flights.
Since January, the airline has also added two additional frequencies on the Seoul Incheon-Bali route to offer 11 weekly flights.
In North America, Korean Air will upgrade the Seoul Incheon-Dallas route from four flights per week to daily flights.
With its global hub at Incheon International airport (ICN), the flag carrier currently serves 111 cities in 40 countries on five continents with a fleet of 160 aircraft.
