Trevor Lee recently revealed that he was originally set to lose in the second round of the 2019 NXT Breakout Tournament. The former Cameron Grimes made it to the finals before he lost to Jordan Myles, aka ACH, and he told Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture about how he was originally planned to lose in round two, but the match was changed after he had a great match against Swerve Strickland in the first round.
“When I first started into NXT and it was the black and gold, I started in the Breakout Tournament,” Lee recalled (per Fightful). “It was really cool, my first match was against Shane Strickland at the time.”
He continued, “The original booking, you could say, of that tournament was that I was supposed to be out in the second round. But me and Strickland had such a good match that Hunter really liked, that he decided to change that booking up a little bit and advance me to the finals where I worked Jordan Myles, formerly known as ACH.”
Lee went on to win the NXT North American Championship during his time in NXT and also held the Million Dollar Championship during his feud with LA Knight.
