Tommy Dreamer believes that both Swerve Strickland and AJ Francis have hit their stride since they exited WWE. Strickland and Francis were allies in Hit Row in WWE, but have gone different ways since they individually left the company.
Strickland went to AEW where he had a reign as World Championship this year, while Francis has moved onto TNA and MLW and had a run as TNA Digital Media Champion. Dreamer talked on the latest episode of Busted Open Radio about how the two have found their footing in their respective companies in such a way as they wouldn’t have been able to in WWE.
“Swerve Strickland, I don’t think would ever have gotten this opportunity in the WWE,” Dreamer said (per Wrestling Inc). He added, “Both guys had different perceptions of them, but now we’re seeing the best versions of themselves.”
Strickland will face Hangman Page in a Steel Cage Lights Out match at All Out on Saturday, while Francis is a member of First Class in TNA.
