– During a recent interview with Fantasy Points Podcast, WWE Superstar The Miz discussed hosting this year’s WWE SummerSlam, which was held in his hometown of Cleveland. Below are some highlights (via Fightful):
The Miz on hosting WWE SummerSlam: “Being able to go into that stadium, not as a fan, but as performer, and being able to perform in front of my family, my friends. Granted, did I want a wrestling match? Of course. It is very very difficult nowadays with how many superstars we have that are over and getting reactions, putting butts in seats.”
On having a spot for him in his hometown: “We have so many superstars that are immensely popular, that have great stories going. To be able to find a spot for me, in my hometown, as a host. I’m forever grateful. Obviously, you always want that match.”
The Miz was in action on last night’s WWE Raw. He competed in a Triple Threat Match against Pete Dunne and Xavier Woods as part of the tournament to crown a new No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental Title. Pete Dunne won the matchup.
