Becky Lynch spurred speculation over her future with an Instagram post on Sunday night, and a new report has an update on her status. As reported, Lynch posted to her Instagram account on Sunday after the airing of her Biography: WWE Legends episode in which she wrote, ““It’s been a helluva career. Being the Man for all of you was an honor, being the mom for her is a privilege. Thanks for watching my bio on @AETV.”
Several fans took that as an indication that Lynch was retiring, but Fightful Select cites sources in WWE as saying that if she is officially retired, they have yet to be informed. Those sources further indicated that if Lynch did retire, they did not believe that it would be done via an Instagram post.
It is worth mentioning that Lynch is not under a WWE contract and thus she would not be under an obligation to notify the company. WWE sources have stated repeatedly that Lynch is enjoying their time off and want to be respectful in giving her her space during that time. Lynch would obviously be welcome back in WWE and at the time of her contract expiring, WWE and Lynch both believed that if/when the time is right she would be back with them.
