Jon Rahm's caddie is believed to have pocketed nearly £2.3million ($3m) following the Spaniard's successful stint on the LIV Golf circuit.
Rahm, who became one of LIV's most significant acquisitions 13 months ago, left the PGA Tour for the Saudi league in a deal reportedly worth £463m ($500m)
The Spaniard then proceeded to increase his wealth on the course, securing two LIV titles in the UK and Chicago, ultimately becoming the league's individual champion.
His victories came with two £3m ($4m) wins, and upon clinching the year-long title, the breakaway league awarded Rahm an astounding £13.8m ($18m) bonus.
Throughout his season with the LIV setup, the four major championships, and three recent starts on the DP World Tour, Rahm amassed a cool £27.3m ($35.5m) in prize money. Naturally, his caddie Adam Hayes also profited handsomely from the earnings.
The topic of caddie remuneration has always been a point of discussion in golf circles, and now one PGA Tour looper, Bryan Kopskick, who works with Ben Silverman, has shed light on the matter.
Kopskick confessed on X that he earns eight per cent of Silverman's tournament winnings, with the player winning $1,262,599 in prize money.
Silverman's aide also disclosed that he receives an additional $2,000 for each event they participate in together.
Using the eight per cent formula, this would imply that Rahm's right-hand man Hayes could have pocketed a cool £2.1m ($2.8m) for his efforts.
Caddies at the top level do more than just carry bags and clean clubs, as Rahm highlighted the crucial role his long-standing partner plays in his success.
After his £16.9m ($22) win in Chicago in September, Rahm admitted that even as one of the world's top golfers, he had to seek advice from his caddie ahead of the final round. "You know, today was a special day in many ways," Rahm said following his victory.
"I woke up really nervous today, as I thought I would, and even warming up, I told Adam, man, I'm nervous. But then I started thinking, playing with Sergio [Garcia] and Brooks Koepka], last time both me and Sergio played good, it was a good Sunday in Valderrama.
"Sergio ended up winning. The last time I went up against Brooks, he ended up beating me. I wanted to hopefully do a really good showing this time and maybe get it over the line. Just really happy to have played as good as I did."
