LIV Golf's Brooks Koepka has confirmed his return to the DP World Tour, committing to the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship next month. The golfer, who inked a deal with the Saudi-backed LIV league in 2022, faced a ban from the PGA Tour following his move.

Despite limited appearances on the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour, Koepka's primary allegiance has been to LIV Golf. His PGA Tour ban means he hasn't been able to play in any events on the American circuit since.

However, Koepka, who relinquished his DP World Tour membership, will be joining the Scottish event through a sponsor's invitation.

The championship, starting on October 3, will see him play at three of Scotland's premier courses: the Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns Golf Links.

"I've been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year," Koepka said in a statement.

"I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favourite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it... The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic."

Five-time major champion Koepka has fond memories of the Scottish event, saying: "I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another. Those two weeks will always be very special to me."

He joins a star-studded lineup that includes Rory McIlroy. The duo have been at odds in golf's recent political dramas and are set to reunite on the green.

They'll first clash at the Dunhill Links, followed by a PGA Tour vs LIV Golf face-off in Las Vegas, where McIlroy teams up with Scottie Scheffler against Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

Koepka isn't the only LIV Golf player heading to Scotland. Tyrrell Hatton is also in the field, returning to an event he's won twice before.

This appearance is crucial for Hatton as he aims to maintain his DP World Tour membership and Ryder Cup eligibility, needing to participate in four events by year-end, having already competed in the Dubai Desert Classic and British Masters.

Hatton has revealed his plans to participate in the Spanish Open at the end of September, followed by the Dunhill Links a week later. His aim is to secure a spot in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour Championship in November.
