Golf star Matt Fitzpatrick has amassed a substantial net worth thanks to his success on the green, and now he's setting his sights on Olympic gold. The 29-year-old is making his debut for Team GB in Paris alongside Tommy Fleetwood, with the Sheffield-born golfer set to compete against the likes of Jon Rahm, the 2023 Masters champion, and Xander Schauffele, the world No. 2 who clinched gold at Tokyo 2020.
Fitzpatrick, who cemented his place among golf's elite after his U.S. Open victory in 2022, has seen his success on the course translate into financial gain. His net worth is reportedly a whopping £7.8million, with his first major win earning him a cool £2.4m ($3.1m).
Interestingly, this multi-million pound prize wasn't the largest of Fitzpatrick's career. The following year, he pocketed a staggering £2.8m ($3.6m) after winning the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links, which marked just his second PGA Tour victory, reports the Mirror.

Six months on, he added another £657,000 (€774,000) to his growing fortune when he triumphed at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. He then went on to win the Pro-Am component of the event with his partner, who turned out to be his mother Susan.
Fitzpatrick is currently eyeing Olympic glory as he aims to secure a second gold medal for Team GB in the sport since its return to the Games in 2016 after an 112-year absence, with Justin Rose winning in Rio. Speaking to the media last week, Fitzpatrick candidly spoke about the significance of an Olympic win compared to major championships.
"The gold medal isn't at the top of every golfer's list; the four majors are," Fitzpatrick confessed. "There's no doubt about that. But I'd certainly say it's underneath that."
He also reflected on his evolving perception of the Olympics and its prestige, adding: "I think probably before I arrived here and kind of got the feel for the Olympics itself, you probably underestimate how big it is and once you are here.
"And you realise the gravity of the whole event and how much it means to other people, not just as an athlete and golfer, you realise that a gold medal would feel very special.
"So yeah, you definitely want to try and win one. So I would definitely say it's higher on the list than I thought it would be, probably, growing up, yeah."
