Leicester City boss Ruud van Nistelrooy insists his side must deliver a flawless performance to stand a chance against Manchester City, despite City's recent stumble in form. The Foxes manager has warned against underestimating Pep Guardiola's men ahead of their clash at the King Power Stadium, highlighting the quality they possess and emphasising the need for Leicester to be impeccable in every department.

"When you look at their team, and the team that played against Everton, I saw the previous games as well, so I know the quality of that squad, that team, that manager," said Van Nistelrooy.

"You know we need to be spot on in all parts to get a result."

Van Nistelrooy, who bagged four points in his initial five games since taking over Leicester, stressed the magnitude of each match and moment as his team battles for survival in the Premier League.

"Yeah, for us the 20, 21 games we have left are massive," he stated. "We know a certain amount of points are necessary to stay in this league and every game, every second of every game, is big for us.

"So it’s something that means we have to show constant improvement, constant pressure to perform and get results.

"So it’s like the Liverpool game, we close the game, we evaluate the game, make a game plan to get a result on Sunday against City and that’s the job that we do."

Looking ahead, Van Nistelrooy is crossing his fingers that Jamie Vardy will be match-fit for tomorrow's clash and has lauded Harry Winks for his commendable performance in his maiden start during his tenure at Liverpool. "Yeah, we know Harry is a great midfield player, very creative, he makes us play," he added.

"He was very positive against Liverpool because we had to defend a lot, although he’s more famous for his skills on the ball.

"So I think on and off the ball, he’s doing great, he’s helping the team. After 60 minutes, I took him off because it’s a short turnaround to get him fresh and fit for Sunday."
