Ruben Dias gave a frosty interview after Manchester City's 2-0 defeat to title rivals Liverpool at Anfield, appearing to bite back at a reporter as the Premier League champions' miserable run continues.
A first-half goal from Cody Gakpo and a Mohamed Salah penalty late on were enough to give the Reds a deserved victory to send them nine points clear at the top and 12 ahead of City.
Remarkably, Pep Guardiola's men have now gone seven games without a win in all competitions, losing six games in that time, and face Nottingham Forest next at the Etihad.
But the Portuguese centre-back insists that he and his team-mates won't dwell on their loss at the hands of Liverpool, only focusing on what lies ahead.
"Our analysis is easy right now, we have Nottingham [Forest next] and we want to win, and that's what's on our mind," Dias said. "The only thing in our minds right now is we want to win against Nottingham.
"Obviously at the moment it's not easy to come here, always a difficult stadium to visit. And the team showed a lot of character, so nothing is on our mind right now."
When asked by the interviewer how the players communicate with each other, Dias suddenly became more irritated: "You know that you're talking to one of the players of one of the teams in the world that has won the most in recent years?
"So maybe have a think about that and be sure that we know how to deal with it."
The reporter then tried to calm the situation by saying that because City win a lot of games, he wanted to know how they would try to get out of their slump. The 27-year-old replied: "Easy. Next game. One game at a time. Nothing else.
"These are the ones [games] that everyone wants to play, these ones we will always remember and these difficult circumstances for the stadium itself and for the moment we're going through. This is when you see the warriors you have next to you."
Liverpool fans savoured Dias' tetchy interview on social media, with one X user '@ScouserJiro2' writing: "He started randomly reminiscing mid interview, his head was GONE."
Another, '@EmersMick', said: "Embarrassing, thin-skinned, petulant and easily rattled. No wonder they can't get out of this rut since they clearly lack strength of character and fortitude." Reds fan '@redcurrymonster' added: "Lol brilliant interview cool and composed a bit like lfc."

Guardiola smirked in response to chants of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' from the home end, with the Catalan tactician holding up six fingers to represent how many titles he has won.
And the 53-year-old pledged his backing to his team to get back to winning ways when key players recover from injuries.
"I want the team back, and the players back. It is important because now the training sessions are better and four or five players are coming back," Guardiola said.
"I have the feeling that from here we start to build something. Call me delusional but I have the feeling that from here we will start to build back to winning games and confidence."
