Manchester United have reportedly drawn up a transfer shortlist containing seven high-profile names as head coach Ruben Amorim may get two new signings to strengthen his squad in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils spent in excess of £200million this summer on Erik ten Hag's new recruits, but with United languishing in 12th in the Premier League, it is fair to say their squad still requires vast improvements.
Reports suggest United's recruitment team have assembled a list of targets for Amorim to mull over prior to the winter transfer window, which opens on January 1.
According to Sky Germany, United sporting director Dan Ashworth has identified seven players on their shortlist for two priority positions. The report adds that they will be looking to sign a new striker and left-back to add to the squad in January.
Amorim may be forced to replace Joshua Zirkzee amid reports linking the Dutchman with a swift return to Italy, with interest from Juventus in a loan move.
And they have a number of targets in mind, with PSG star Randal Kolo Muani, Eintracht Frankfurt's in-form winger Omar Marmoush, Bayer Leverkusen's Victor Boniface and on-loan Galatasaray frontman Victor Osimhen all reportedly on their radar.

There is a consensus that Marmoush, Boniface and Osimhen would all cost somewhere in the region between £60m and £75m, while Kolo Muani could be available for loan after falling out of favour at Parc des Princes.
The search for a left-back is perhaps more urgent considering Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia's long-term absence and it is claimed Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies is their 'preferred candidate'.
It is claimed there is 'concrete' interest from the Red Devils and the Canadian looks poised to leave the Bundesliga giants, as contract negotiations have broken down and his current deal expires in June. However, Davies is thought to be keen on a move to Real Madrid.
That could force United to look at alternatives such as AC Milan's explosive wing-back Theo Hernandez, whose contract runs to 2026 and if the Italian outfit cannot agree a new deal, they could be forced to cash in on the Frenchman.
Another candidate is Bournemouth starlet Milos Kerkez, 21, who has starred for the Cherries since his move from AZ Alkmaar and has played in all 12 games for them this season.
From his early selection choices, Amorim may prefer to mark his stamp on the squad by signing players that not only fit his style of play but improve his current options.
Amorim used Noussair Mazraoui as a left wing-back in his 3-4-3 formation for his first game in charge against Ipswich Town on Sunday, which ended in a 1-1 draw, before brigning on Shaw as a substitute. Marcus Rashford started up front while £72m man Rasmus Hojlund was named on the bench.
