Celtic have reportedly declined the Scottish Premiership's contract with Premier Sports, ruling out any possibility of their top-of-the-table clash with Aberdeen being televised.

After the international break, the two Premiership teams with perfect records will face off in Glasgow's east end, with Celtic hosting Jimmy Thelin's soaring Dons.

However, Sky Sports, which will broadcast 60 live games per season until 2029, has not selected the game, leaving Premier Sports as the only potential broadcaster.

The Daily Mail reports that Celtic rejected the opportunity to be part of the deal, which would allow the subscription channel to air 20 live games from the Scottish top flight.

The agreement reportedly allows the broadcaster to show up to two additional games from any Premiership stadium, with clubs receiving £75,000 for each additional home game and a maximum payment of £150,000 for two.

It is suggested that Celtic did not want to inconvenience season-ticket holders and fans travelling from further away by changing the Saturday 3pm kick-off times, leading them to reject the SPFL commercial agreement.

It is also noted that Sky are limited to five visits per season to each ground and have already visited Parkhead twice this term and have made their selections for the September fixture card.
