Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker called out the tactics of Nottingham Forest after they gained a shock win at Anfield. Callum Hudson-Odoi's superb 72nd-minute strike flew past the Brazilian, finding the back of the net via the post.

The visitors had been resolute before that, frustrating the home side with their compact formation.

But Allison was left less than impressed, accusing Forest of not trying to attack during the 90 minutes.

"Losing a game at home in front of our own supporters is the most frustrating thing for us," the 31-year-old told Sky Sports. "A game where we played better than the opponent. We didn't deserve to lose this game but football is like that sometimes.

"You give a half chance and the opponent scores, and then you have to run against the time. But the way they defended, especially in the first half, they just kicked long balls."

The Reds had 14 shots on goal compared to the five of Forest, and had 69.6 per cent of possession. They were also superior in terms of touches in the opposition box, taking 34 while the away side had just five.

Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

With Ultra HD included at no extra cost, football fans can enjoy the 2024/25 season with crystal clear picture quality.

But despite their keeper's bitter response, in reality Liverpool wasted a series of attacking positions, and while Luis Diaz hit the post in the first half, they failed to create clear openings. And Alisson conceded that Nuno Espirito Santo's men were resilient when it mattered.

He also took aim at his own team, adding: "All the opportunities we had were not clear enough and they defended great, they threw themselves in front of the ball. Second half they made changes and we didn't adapt quick enough.

"We had to deal with three counter attacks before we conceded the goal. So we should defend better in those situations. You have to defend better in front of your box, be more aggressive."

Hudson-Odoi's winner signified the first goal Alisson has conceded this season after three straight clean sheets. It also meant a first win for Forest at Anfield since February 1969.

And Santo was unapologetic for how he set his team up, saying: "If you ignore the quality Liverpool have it is a mistake and we didn't. You cannot leave your team-mates isolated, you have to be organised and solid. I praise everybody, every player is going to be needed."
