Kingsley Coman has reportedly decided that he would like to leave Bayern Munich before the summer transfer window closes.

The winger has spent nine years with the Bundesliga outfit but is now keen to embark on a new challenge, having won countless trophies in Germany and also in France (Paris Saint-Germain) and Italy (Juventus).

Coman, who scored just five goals in 27 appearances for Bayern last season, has caught the attention of top clubs around Europe – and elsewhere.

According to L‘Equipe, the France international has decided that he is keen to leave Bayern in the final few days of the transfer window.

His availability has ‘attracted’ interest from several Premier League clubs, though suitors are expected to come forward from elsewhere. Coman is said to have previously snubbed approaches from the Saudi Pro League.

The 28-year-old was linked with Arsenal earlier this summer, and it would be no surprise for Mikel Arteta’s side to be in the frame to secure the signature of the versatile forward given that attacking reinforcements have not been ruled out at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have made two signings already this summer, with Riccardo Calafiori and David Raya joining the club, and a third arrival is on the way in the shape of Real Sociedad star Mikel Merino.

However, questions have been raised about whether Arteta has enough attacking depth to push for trophies on all fronts. Arsenal are expected to part ways with Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson before the transfer window closes, which could leave them short of rotational options.

Coman is capable of playing on both wings and also through the middle when required, and his versatility could make him the ideal acquisition if Bayern are willing to negotiate a cut-price deal for the tricky winger given that he is capable of providing cover for Bukayo Saka.

The ex-PSG star is reportedly only willing to leave the Bundesliga if an ‘interesting’ proposal arrives, and a move to Arsenal would certainly fulfil that demand. Coman has never played in the Premier League before and thus a move would allow him to conquer another country’s top-flight league, as well as push to end the dominance of Manchester City.

However, it remains to be seen whether Coman would accept being a rotational option in north London if Arteta does decide to green-light an approach for the wantaway star.
