Kieran Trippier reportedly wants out of Newcastle United this summer, with one Premier League club having already shown an interest in the right-back.

Trippier joined the Magpies in January 2022 for £15million from Atletico Madrid, becoming the first signing of the new Saudi Arabian-backed ownership.

In that time, he's made over 90 appearances for the North East-based outfit while netting on four occasions and registering 21 assists.

But, it looks as if Trippier could be leaving Newcastle before next week's transfer deadline.

As per The Athletic, Trippier is believed to be exploring his options elsewhere, having seen his role reduced by manager Eddie Howe.

Trippier was an unused substitute during Newcastle's opening-day victory over Southampton, with Howe giving the starter spot to Tino Livramento.

What's more, the captain's armband was also taken away from the former Burnley and Tottenham Hotspur ace, with Bruno Guimaraes set to skipper Newcastle this season.

The news that Trippier could be available is said to have piqued the interest of several clubs, but so far it's Everton who are the side believed to be most interested.

It's suggested Trippier is on the lookout for first-team football and initial talks with Everton appear to have got off to a positive start.

Trippier and Everton boss Sean Dyche already have an existing relationship after the two spent three years together at Burnley between 2012 and 2015.

The 33-year-old has two years left on his contract, meaning Newcastle will have the final say over any potential deal.

It comes after the 2022/23 League Cup runners-up waved away interest from Bayern Munich during the January 2024 transfer window, despite Trippier having reportedly agreed personal terms with the Bundesliga giant.

It's claimed in the same report that Saudi Arabian clubs have also shown early interest in the Bury-born defender, but a deal is yet to materialise.

All in all, it's been a quiet transfer window for Newcastle, with less than £60million having been spent.

On the prospect of more business between now and the window shutting, Howe said last week: "We have done [walked away] many times especially early on when there was very much a Newcastle tax. When we would turn up the price would double.

"Many times we would not go down that road where we are overpaying for players. I think it has changed slightly because people have seen our dynamic and we aren't going to pay silly fees for players."

Newcastle return to action this weekend when they take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
