Gary Neville will take up a new role as a pundit on US television for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

The ex-Manchester United ace has been a fan favourite on British screens ever since he retired from playing in 2011.

But now, viewers in the States will be treated to his dulcet tones and steely opinions, with US-based broadcaster NBC having snapped him up.

Announcing their capture, NBC said: "NBC Sports is proud to welcome Gary Neville to the team as a special contributor throughout the 2024/25 season!"

The channel announced Neville will be part of their coverage for Sunday fixtures, but NBC did reveal the former England international is in attendance for tonight's Premier League opener between United and Fulham at Old Trafford

For fans of Neville's punditry in the UK, don't worry, because it's expected the Bury-born analyst will still be working with Sky Sports.

It's said the deal with NBC is in "collaboration with Sky Sports."

Neville should have plenty of eyes on his new role, given NBC posted a season of record-breaking figures last time around.

That included almost three million viewers tuning in for the 'Championship Sunday' - the final day of the Premier League campaign.

But the changes aren't only coming off the pitch this season, with a number of alterations having been confirmed ahead of tonight's Premier League start.

One of those is the number of substitutes allowed to warm up at any given time. Last season it had been three, but this term it's been increased to five per team.

Another change comes to how additional time is calculated, with minutes for delays caused by goal celebrations only added on if the festivities exceed 30 seconds.

While a slight tweak in the multiball rule means ball assistants positioned behind the goal will be allowed to hand the ball back to keepers directly.

It all kicks off at Old Trafford this evening, as Erik ten Hag opens up his third Premier League campaign as United boss.

Arne Slot's first match in charge of Liverpool comes at Portman Road against newbies Ipswich Town tomorrow afternoon.

Arsenal's pursuit of a first Premier League title in over 20 years begins at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, but the pick of the opening round of fixtures comes in west London.

Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City begin their title defence away to Chelsea - a side they failed to beat in the league last season.
