Arsenal still have the chance to kill two birds with one stone by acquiring the services of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford this summer.

Mikel Arteta is keen to sign at least one forward before the transfer window closes, with an alternative option out of the right-wing favoured and versatility being an attribute that is favoured.

Bukayo Saka lacked top-quality cover last season which meant that the Gunners relied on the England international to play through fatigue and whilst carrying minor knocks, thus risking further injury.

With Reiss Nelson expected to depart, signing a proven replacement who can play anywhere along the frontline and influence play from the bench will be on the shopping list for Edu – and Mbeumo of Brentford certainly fits the bill.

The 24-year-old has been speculatively linked with the Gunners previously, as well as Newcastle and Liverpool, who are claimed to have shortlisted the Cameroon international as a potential Mohamed Salah successor.

With time running out in the window, Brentford won’t allow Mbeumo to leave cheaply. However, Arsenal may have an ace up their sleeve in negotiations with the Bees. Thomas Frank’s side are among a host of clubs to have registered an interest in Eddie Nketiah previously and the academy product could therefore be the ideal makeweight in a deal for Mbeumo.

Nketiah is keen to seek a new opportunity elsewhere this summer where he will receive assurances over his game time, and the striker would certainly feature prominently at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Marseille have targeted the 25-year-old this summer, though a move is now on the rocks as the Ligue 1 outfit are unsure whether to match Arsenal’s £30million asking price after already acquiring the services of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.

Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

With Ultra HD included at no extra cost, football fans can enjoy the 2024/25 season with crystal clear picture quality.

Nketiah would have the opportunity to remain in London if accepting of a Brentford switch and also be the face of a new, upcoming project. Arsenal will similarly be pleased with the deal given that offloading the No. 14 has been one of their priorities in recent months.

Mbeumo would be an alternative option to Saka on the wing, with his raw pace and desire to race in behind defences making him a more direct option. The ex-Troyes star scored nine goals and registered six assists for Brentford last season, and he will feel that he could have added more to those tallies in a system that creates as many opportunities as Arsenal.
