Eddie Nketiah is reportedly closing in on an exit from Arsenal this summer. The Gunners have reportedly rejected three bids from Marseille for the England international but are likely to accept around £30m. Express Sport looks at five strikers who Arsenal could sign once they sell Nketiah.

Victor Osimhen

Arsenal will face a tough battle with Chelsea but Victor Osimhen is likely to be attainable this summer. With only two years remaining on his contract, Napoli can no longer demand the £100m they have wanted in previous windows.

Arteta is in desperate need of a recognised and prolific No 9. There are few better available this year than Osimhen.

Alexander Isak

Newcastle no longer need to sell to avoid a breach of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations. However, Arsenal may well fancy their chances of landing Alexander Isak.

According to the Independent, Isak is Arteta’s top target for the striker role, to the point where the Spanish coach would rather not sign anyone else. The Sweden international would be a hit at the Emirates Stadium and be a major upgrade on Nketiah.

Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke seems likely to end up in north London this summer - but it may well be at Tottenham. The Bournemouth star bagged 19 Premier League goals last season and has interest from top six clubs.

Spurs view Solanke as the heir to Kane’s throne, but Arsenal could get one over their local rivals by beating them to a deal for the 26-year-old. The former Chelsea academy star has the physical ability and link-up play to suit Arteta’s style.

Ivan Toney

Arsenal might have jumped at the chance to sign Ivan Toney two years ago. But the Brentford man’s stock has fallen considerably since his eight-month ban and subsequent return in January.

Toney scored only four goals in 17 appearances in the second half of last season and his inclusion in the England squad for Euro 2024 was a relative surprise. But if there is any coach in world football to get the very best out of the 28-year-old, it is almost certainly Arteta.

Brentford are unlikely to receive the £100m they might once have demanded for Toney. A figure closer to £30m would surely seal the deal. For a striker with the potential to win several points across the course of the season, it is a move worth making for Arsenal.

Dusan Vlahovic

Arsenal can conclude a near three-year transfer chase for Serbia international Dusan Vlahovic. Mikel Arteta missed out on Vlahovic in January 2022 when the Gunners were yet to establish themselves in the top four and Juventus presented a better offer.

Vlahovic’s move to Juve has not entirely worked out and he could be offloaded by the Italian club to raise funds. The 24-year-old would add something different to Arteta’s attack.
