Dominic Solanke has fuelled speculation about his future further by posting a cryptic quote on his thought-provoking Instagram story.

The AFC Bournemouth striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Vitality Stadium this summer, with Tottenham shortlisting him as one of their top targets in recent weeks after ruling that they need to acquire the services of a new No. 9.

A fee in excess of £50million would be required to test the resolve of the Cherries, though Spurs aren’t short of funds and are considering making an attempt to lure the ex-Liverpool frontman to north London.

Solanke has not outrightly spoken about his future since the reports about Tottenham’s interest have emerged, though the 26-year-old has now hinted that he is dreaming of big things going forward.

The Bournemouth star posted a quote from an anime character on his Instagram story which read: “No dream is too big, no goal too ambitious. Dare to dream, and dare to make it a reality.”

Some Spurs fans have taken the fact that he has posted 'Dare to dream' as a hint that he wants to join given th club's slogan is 'To Dare Is To Do'.

Many have interpreted the quote as a hint that he is keen to play at the highest level and challenge for trophies, which Spurs hope to do in the 2024/25 campaign.

Ange Postecoglou

Ange Postecoglou has also spoken about his desire to sign a striker this month after being forced to be flexible tactically last season by rotating Heung-Min Son and Richarlison as his striker options.

The ex-Celtic boss favours a more traditional striker though who can be a direct outlet when required but also drop deep to influence play and bring the best out of the talented crop of wingers on the books of Tottenham.

Asked earlier this week whether Spurs are pushing for a new striker, Postecoglou said: “It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that's a focus for us.

“At Celtic, I had Kyogo, who was a sort of out-and-out number nine and in Japan, I've always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it's fair to say. You know but if Harry (Kane) would have stayed I definitely would have used him!

"So I think for us what's more important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it's going be a striker that fits that mould."
