Manchester United's new signing, Leny Yoro, is set to be out of action for three months, while striker Rasmus Hojlund will be sidelined for six weeks.

Yoro suffered a metatarsal fracture during the 2-1 friendly loss to Arsenal in Los Angeles and isn't expected to return until October. Hojlund picked up a hamstring injury just 13 minutes into the match.

The French youngster, Yoro, seemed to have a minor clash with Gabriel Jesus shortly before he was forced to leave the pitch in the 34th minute at SoFi Stadium.

Hojlund, aged 21, will miss key matches including the Community Shield against Manchester City, the opening Premier League fixture at home to Fulham, the away game against Brighton and the visit of Liverpool. The Danish international could potentially return after the September internationals.

Despite his injury, 18-year-old Yoro is eager to remain with the squad for the rest of their pre-season tour of the United States. He will undergo further assessment upon his return to the UK.

With Yoro out of action, United currently have only three senior centre-backs available for manager Erik ten Hag. The club is also looking to offload Victor Lindelof, whose contract expires next year.

Lisandro Martinez is expected to return to training next week following international duty. However, Yoro's injury may prompt United to make a third bid for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

The Red Devils are also eyeing Bayern Munich defender Matthijs de Ligt as they consider signing three centre-halves this summer.

United have secured the services of a new striker, Joshua Zirkzee, for a hefty £36.5m, who has reported to Carrington for pre-season training this week.

Yoro made his debut for United against Rangers last week, following his transfer from Lille.
