Manchester United's Amad has pledged to become a mainstay in the team, revealing that manager Erik ten Hag has promised him "good things" for the upcoming season.

The winger had a challenging start last season due to an injury but ended on a high note, scoring a memorable goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final during extra time.

Despite having been loaned out to Rangers and Sunderland, the 22-year-old is ready to make his mark at United, with Ten Hag assuring him of opportunities.

Reflecting on his injury, Amad said: "It wasn't easy for me to get an injury in pre-season last season.

"I was out a long time but the most important thing was to come back stronger, to help the team and, in the end, i was happy with my contribution.

Amad acknowledged his limited playing time last season but expressed optimism about the new season. He said: "I know last season I didn't play a lot, but this season is going to be a good season for everyone and motivated to start the season."

He also shared details of his conversation with the manager, saying: "The manager and I had a conversation, a positive conversation, and he said good things to me.

"I believe in the manager. Last last season I din't play a lot, but I think I will have good things this season.

"The manager - everyone thinks he's a good guy. I speak with him and he gives me a lot of confidence."

Amad, who is competing with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho for the wide roles at United, remains confident in his ability to secure a regular spot.

"The manager believes a lot in young players and I hope this season he will give me a lot of game time," said Amad. "But it's up to me to prove myself in training and to start in the team.

"That goal against Liverpool was the most important of my life. I was very happy to score it. Even now, I can't believe it.

"I was confident and then the manager started to believe in me and play me a lot."
