We are now just three weeks away from the start of the Premier League season and clubs are ramping up their their transfer plans.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been very active in the summer transfer window, but fans of Liverpool and Manchester City are still waiting for a statement signing. And a number of managers are now faced with finalising deals from abroad, with teams having started their pre-season tours.

Indeed, Arsenal struck an early psychological blow overnight with a 2-1 win over United in America. That game came amid reports that Riccardo Calafiori was flying out from Italy ahead of sealing a move to the Gunners from Bologna.

De Gea set to return

David De Gea is set to return to football more than a year after leaving Manchester United.

The 33-year-old has been a free agent since last summer, and according to the Athletic, is in with Serie A side Genoa.

Calafiori latest

Following their win last night, Arsenal are expected to complete a deal for Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori in the next 24 hours.

The two clubs have agreed a fee, and the 22-year-old boarded a plane to England yesterday ahead of a proposed £42million transfer.

United injury blow

Manchester United's new signing Leny Yoro suffered an injury as his side lost 2-1 in a US tour game to Arsenal in Los Angeles overnight.

The 18-year-old defender went down in the first half and needed lengthy treatment before going off.

Rasmus Hojlund gave United the lead before Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli struck for the Gunners.
