Arne Slot and Michael Edwards are equally as relaxed about Liverpool's summer transfer window despite the club's lack of business progressively agitating supporters. Liverpool - along with Fulham - are the only Premier League sides yet to make a signing with the 2024/25 season less than one month away.

It's uncommon for there to be no sign of the summer's first recruit on the brink of August, especially when a new manager has entered the dugout.

Slot has the tall task of succeeding Anfield icon Jurgen Klopp, who walked away from Merseyside after nine memorable years at the end of last season.

For that reason, many expected Liverpool to waste no time in supplying the Dutchman with players that fit his vision during a summer of such transition.

However, what supporters have instead received is silence. And with every new signing a rival club makes, frustrations intensify even further.

Edwards has returned to Liverpool, two years after quitting as sporting director, to become FSG's chief executive of football.

According to The Athletic, he is a strong believer in the importance of ignoring the outside noise, especially the ever-increasing cravings for transfers.

Edwards has retained that belief this summer, which indicates that things, for the most part, are going to plan for Liverpool.

Slot has publicly explained the Reds' lack of activity by insisting that he needs to complete a review of the squad he inherited from Klopp.

The 45-year-old's ranks include several big-money signings that Klopp sanctioned in the final few years of his reign, including Dominik Szoboszlai and Darwin Nunez.

During the press conference at his unveiling, Slot said: "There's already a real good team. There have been a few new signings last season.

"The longer a team plays together, if there's a good manager or a good head coach, normally you see things will improve."

In his first interview for the club, he also mentioned: "I think we have a lot of quality, and the way they played last season was already impressive, so we are going to build from there."

The Athletic also claim that Slot has an important role in Liverpool's transfer business, despite being named the club's head coach rather than manager.

He is said to be in daily contact with new sporting director Richard Hughes, who will oversee transfer and contract negotiations.

For now, Slot is fully focused on coaching and developing his current players as Liverpool prepare to enter a season of undeniable unknowns.
