Unpleasant scenes dominated to build-up to Tuesday's Euro 2024 clash between Turkey and Georgia as supporters brawled inside the Westfalenstadion. Heavy rainfall also caused Borussia Dortmund's stadium to severely leak while the violence ensued in the stands as kick-off approached.

Turkey vs Georgia is the first of a Group F double-header to conclude the first round of fixtures at this summer's European Championships.

A momentous day for Georgia - entering their maiden major tournament in Germany - was somewhat marred by a fight that broke out in one of the corners of the stadium.

Other supporters at the Westfalenstadion booed and whistled as a group of Georgia's following appeared to breach an area behind a corner flag to confront that of Turkey.

Drinks were thrown in either direction and most of the scrapping took place over a barrier as Turkish supporters remained in their stand.

Some fans were seen in the middle of the conflict, attempting to restore order and peace ahead of the next instalment of what has been a celebration of football over the past four days in Germany.

Meanwhile, other fans at the ground were forced to take cover as water gushed down from the roof as a result of heavy rainfall in Dortmund.

Images mirrored those at Old Trafford after Manchester United's 1-0 defeat against Arsenal in May, where separate waterfalls wreaked havoc inside the iconic stadium.

The Three Lions are among the favourites to win this summer's Euro 2024 tournament and you can get your hands on the brand new Nike home and away kits before the first whistle.

Staff members tirelessly worked to clear the flooding by sweeping water towards the Westfalenstadion's drainage system.

Despite the leakage and brawls in the stands, there currently isn't expected to be any disruption to the planned 5pm BST kick-off time.

Also in Group F, Portugal, among the tournament favourites, begin their Euro 2024 campaign against the Czech Republic later in the evening.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and co. have looked formidable under Roberto Martinez and will be looking to top the group with a minimum of fuss.

But the story of the day would surround Georgia if they manage to defeat Turkey, who will be supported in huge numbers across Germany.

Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is his nation's beacon of hope, with manager Willy Sagnol set to line up in a 5-3-2 formation.

Meanwhile, Turkey will be keen to avenge a disastrous Euro 2020 campaign, at which they were heavily touted as dark horses.

Georgia XI: Mamardashvili; Kakabadze, Kvirkvelia, Kashia, Dvali, Tsitaishvili; Chakvetadze, Mekvabishvili, Kochorashvili; Mikautadze, Kvaratskhelia.

Turkey XI: Gunok; Muldur, Akaydin, Bardakci, Kadioglu; Calhanoglu, Ayhan; Guler, Kokcu, Yildiz; Yilmaz.
