Jadon Sancho could be set to foil Manchester United team-mate Mason Greenwood and his move to Juventus, with interest now waning in Greenwood as a result of Sancho’s availability. The two wingers are set to be sold by the Red Devils this summer, with the club hoping to fetch in the region of £80million for the pair, after impressive loans to Borussia Dortmund and Getafe last season.

After Erik ten Hag received backing that he would continue in his position as United manager, Sancho’s fate was all but sealed. He publicly fell out with the Dutchman nearly a year ago, was banished from the first-team squad and then sent out on loan back to Dortmund in Germany.

United are also hoping to part ways with Greenwood after a successful spell at Getafe, with interest in the one-cap England man from Spain and Italy.

Juventus were thought to be leading the race for Greenwood and had already agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old. All that was left to finalise was a fee with United, until a new idea was proposed at the Italian giants.

The Sun claim that Juventus have now switched their attention to Sancho rather than Greenwood as they look to seal a loan with an option to buy. Dortmund also remain keen on the 24-year-old returning after he helped them reach the Champions League final, but they are unlikely to meet United’s asking price.

Whether new Old Trafford decision-makers INEOS would be prepared to sanction another loan for Sancho remains to be seen, but Juventus’ interest in Greenwood has since cooled following the emerging possibility of his team-mate heading to Turin.

Despite agreeing to join Juventus, Greenwood could see his plans left in tatters due to Sancho, forcing him to look elsewhere and possibly return to Spain.

Various reports suggested that Greenwood’s priority was a permanent move to La Liga, but his options were dwindling with Getafe unable to meet his financial demands and Barcelona similarly unwilling to stump up the necessary cash.

However, Valencia have entered the frame to sign Greenwood and could offer him a lifeline after Juventus' change of heart. Ruben Baraja's side have submitted a bid for his signature, though it is expected to be well below United’s current asking price of £40m.

But Greenwood’s future remains up in the air since returning to England, with Juventus now more interested in his team-mate. And with the forward entering the final year of his contract, albeit with an option to extend by 12 months, time is of the essence in finding a new home with neither United nor Juventus willing takers.
