Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set for a new round of talks to determine Jadon Sancho's future. The two sides are yet to reach an agreement on whether to focus on negotiating a permanent deal or a season-long loan for the winger, whose relationship with United boss Erik ten Hag has crumbled.

Sancho spent four and a half months out of competitive action after being banished from the United first team by Ten Hag. A disagreement over the 23-year-old's omission from the matchday squad against Arsenal in September sparked a public row, and he has not played for the Red Devils since.
A January loan move back to BVB, where Sancho played between 2017 and 2021, ensured he would bank senior minutes for the rest of the campaign, and the former England man sent an immediate message to his parent club by notching an assist against Darmstadt on his debut.
According to HITC, senior figures at United have made their minds up on selling Sancho permanently, although an agreement with Dortmund is not forthcoming as the Bundesliga side would prefer a season-long loan with an option to buy at the end of 2024/25.

United have reportedly informed Sancho and his representatives that a summer sale is their preference, which the player is also believed to favour. BVB's agreement would therefore be the final piece of the puzzle.
A loan with an option could see Sancho return to United if Dortmund pass up on the permanent transfer fee. The Red Devils are therefore understood to be pushing for a loan with an obligation to buy at a minimum if they are unable to tempt the German outfit into a straightforward deal.

The two sides will reportedly work on finding common ground when they hold talks over Sancho's future in the coming weeks. United shelled out an eye-watering £73million on the wide man back in 2021, having followed him for years.
Sancho's output tailed off dramatically after signing a big-money contract at Old Trafford. An impressive haul of 50 goals in 137 games for Dortmund was followed by only 12 goals in 82 matches for the Red Devils.

Despite once being touted as a future star of the international stage, Sancho has not made a single England appearance since 2021, and seemingly has little chance of being selected in Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad.
Having registered an assist on his second debut for BVB, Sancho has since gone seven games without contributing to a goal as Dortmund trail a massive 20 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
