Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has been busy at work trying to offload fringe stars, according to reports. The Blues are in need of funds ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Since Boehly completed his Chelsea takeover, a huge amount of arrivals have come in after spending over £1billion - leaving Mauricio Pochettino and his predecessors with a very bloated squad. And the club's business hasn't paid off, with the team sitting 11th in the Premier League.

And according to the Mirror, Boehly has been attempting to clear the decks at Stamford Bridge by offering three fringe stars to Turkish outfit Besiktas.

With the Premier League transfer window shut, Chelsea looked to sell to Turkey as their market was open until the Friday just gone. And it has been reported that Boehly offered Besiktas the opportunity to buy Malang Sarr, who has become the forgotten man at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, youngsters Deivid Washington and Andrey Santos have also been offered to the Turkish giants in recent weeks. However, the latter has moved to sister club Strasbourg on loan until the season is out.

Sarr's time at Stamford Bridge has been a bit of a nightmare and it was made worse by Pochettino during an unusual moment in one of his press conferences.

Back in August, Pochettino grabbed the headlines when he was asked about Sarr's future in west London, before he responded with a rather puzzled look and said: "Who?"

The 25-year-old Frenchman joined Chelsea for free from Nice in August 2020 but has very much struggled for game time, having been loaned out to Porto and Monaco after his move to Stamford Bridge.

With Boehly having no luck late on in the winter window, he'll be hoping to offload some fringe players early doors during the summer. While Chelsea have already spent a mammoth amount under his reign, the club are still in need of some fresh faces to ease the Blues' woes.
