I hold a rare perspective: I’m the only appraiser who has had the opportunity to work with both candidates for Salt Lake County assessor. That experience has left me with a clear choice in this election.
I worked at the Salt Lake County assessor’s office and my interactions with Chris Stavros were minimal, and lacked substance. I rarely even saw him and didn’t have the opportunity to engage with him. I was certainly not the only person hoping for improvement, as many very smart employees saw significant areas for improvement.
During my time as the director of quality at Security National Mortgage, Joel Frost was one of our preferred appraisers. Not only was he considered a subject matter expert, but his friendly communication was impeccable. This made Frost our go-to guy.
In June of 2023, the leaders of my faith issued a warning against straight-ticket voting, calling it a “threat to democracy” and urging us all to seek honest and capable leaders, regardless of party affiliation.
Since I rarely support Democrats, I am happy to say that in this situation I am! He is the best candidate, as he wants to listen, learn and fix real issues.
I can assure fellow registered Republicans that Frost’s stance on abortion, gay rights, amnesty and anything else that might deter you from voting for a Democrat is of no consequence. He is not a political person. He is an empathetic leader and real estate expert. I’m happy I can confidently put partisanship aside and vote for the candidate who has the vision, integrity, empathy and commitment to make a much-needed difference for Salt Lake County.
That leader is Joel Frost.
