A man broke into a dorm room at the University of Utah early Tuesday morning and exposed himself to a female student, campus police say.
The break-in happened just after midnight, according to a news release from the school, when the man forced his way in through a window of one of the Shoreline Ridge residence halls. Those sit below the Bonneville Shoreline Trail of Salt Lake’s foothills on the eastern-most border of campus.
Once the man got into the room, police say, he flashed the female student there. U. police Capt. Brian Lohrke said there were two other women living in the suite, in separate rooms, who did not come in contact with the man.
The man quickly left and did not go to any other spaces in the residence hall. The news release says he fled south towards Red Butte Canyon Road.
The U. is now asking for help identifying the man and have released images of him from a surveillance camera in the building. He is described as a white male with shoulder-length blonde hair and a beard. He has a medium build and was wearing dark shorts, dark shoes and a gray shirt with a white stripe down the arm.
