Scam victims lose nearly $1m to con men who make unsolicited calls, claiming to work for China-based businesses

SINGAPORE — Scam victims in Singapore lost nearly $1 million in under two weeks to con men who claimed to be working for China-based businesses like Tencent, WeChat or UnionPay. The police said in a statement on Sept 10 that there have been at least
