Zhang Tao, FIA Safety Delegate, has announced that the TCR World Tour – Race 2 which was scheduled to start at 10:55 this morning has been postponed.
In a special press conference held at the Grand Prix media center, the official said that the race was temporarily postponed due to the “poor weather conditions and concerning safety on track.”
Organizers and safety delegates are currently evaluating the conditions on the Guia Circuit before greenlighting the race that will decide this year’s winner of the TCR World Tour.
According to what was possible for the Times to investigate, there are currently several areas around on track that have standing water from the rain that has been continuously falling since the early hours of this morning and that are likely to pose a risk of “aquaplaning” for the TCR cars.
The race is expected to resume in a few minutes with the new schedule for TCR World Tour – Race 2 to be announced as soon as possible, Zhang remarked.
