Tickets to local demonstrations by mainland Olympians who did well at the Paris Games were all snapped up in a little more than half an hour on Thursday morning. There were some 5,000 tickets available for the public to go to two demonstrations on August 31, and a gala show the night before. The events are part of a three-day visit by the delegation to Hong Kong. Tens of thousands of people joined an online queue for the HK$20 tickets when they went on sale at 10am. The two demonstrations, at Victoria Park Swimming Pool and Queen Elizabeth Stadium, will feature divers, swimmers, gymnasts, as well as table tennis and badminton players. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department said those who bought the tickets need to collect them at URBTIX outlets or from self-service ticketing kiosks on or before August 30. After departing Hong Kong, members of the national team will spend three days in Macau.
