Digital Policy Office established

A Digital Policy Office (DPO) was officially established on Thursday under the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau to enhance government efficiency and services through data-driven, people-centric and outcome-based digital policies. Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Sun Dong said the office will bring more convenience to the public and benefit the business sector in a digitising era. "The DPO will promote the implementation of digital policies based on innovative technology and data, and make every effort to steer bureaus and departments in leveraging innovative technology to enhance public services," he said. Led by the commissioner for digital policy, the DPO comprises of three branches tasked with formulating policies and initiatives, spearheading the development of digital government and promoting the application of advanced information technology. The establishment of the DPO was one of the initiatives announced in the 2023 policy address.
