James Bond through a queer lens, Andy Burnham: King of The North, Demetrius Flenory Jr, the mighty FIFA soundtrack and Milan Fashion Week!

Pitch perfect: the mighty power of the FIFA soundtrack

Countless artists have scored hits thanks to the footy game’s much-loved menu music.

From drug godfather to Euphoria: Demetrius Flenory Jr’s wild ride

The actor is making his debut playing his dad, the imprisoned founder of cocaine traffickers Black Mafia Family. Next up: playing Maddy’s boyfriend in Euphoria … possibly. Where did it all go right?

Why it’s time to view James Bond through a queer lens

Andy Burnham: “I want to make change happen that I think is right”

Two hundred miles from Westminster, Labour politician Andy Burnham has been recast as Manchester’s firebrand mayor: a “king of the north”, who refuses to kneel before the nation’s southern overlords. But does his ambition extend beyond the ring road?

This week’s newsletter is curated by PC Music rising star caro . Read our interview with her here . Below, she curates the best things to read, watch and listen to over the next seven says. Dig in!
LISTEN
I really like the last Palmistry album, Wyrdo , and Dark0’s Eternity . I also love Bby Eco’s album Grow! – I’m listening to it a lot at the moment, it’s so beautiful.
WATCH
I just realised I haven’t watched anything in a while! The last thing I really enjoyed watching was Jarvis Cocker’s art brut little tour, Journeys Into The Outside . The episodes are on YouTube. I also watched a lot of documentaries by Agnes Varda last year, I think there’s a few of them on Mubi. I particularly like Du côté de la côte because it’s set where I grew up and it’s so summery.
READ
A friend has recently lent me Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ book, Women who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype . I’ve been meaning to read it for a while and I’m very happy I finally started. It seems perfectly appropriate for deepening the mindset I’m currently getting into, and which is feeding the next batch of stuff I’m working on.
