Corrie's Simon Gregson discusses suffering from panic attacks
Georgia Taylor who stars on Coronation Street as Toyah Battersby was among the supporters as her co-star announced his exit from the long-running ITV soap.
The actress declared her love for Colson Smith as he revealed that his 14-year role as PC Craig Tinker would be ending.
In the emotional Instagram post, Colson confirmed that he was told he would be written out of the show last year.
The actor penned: “Autumn last year I was told that Craig Tinkers time on the Cobbles is to come to end in 2025.”
Reflecting on his time, he shared: “I’ve LOVED every single second of my 14 year stay as a resident on the GREATEST street in the world.
“I feel incredibly lucky to have grown up in, on and around Coronation street. I’ve learnt pretty much everything about life from the people who call it home.
I’m excited to play out the exit story for Our Craigy. For Me, this is just the end of the beginning.”
Colson added: “I genuinely can’t wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for me. LONG LIVE THE COBBLES!”
Alongside adoring fans sharing their support, was Toyah Battersby star Georgia, who wrote: “We love you Cols.”

Colson is the latest in a growing list of stars to leave the programme in recent months.
Corrie legend Sue Cleaver recently announced her departure after 25 years as the no-nonsense Eileen Grimshaw.
She told The Sun on Sunday: “I've had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street.
“The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year, I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly.”
Sue and Colson's departures follow the high-profile exit of Helen Worth as Gail Platt after 50 years.
